"Valko, the mascot, visually represents the stylization of the water wave and its physical appearance is inspired by the elements of water, dynamics, animation, a swimmer. Symbolic of the character is tied with Rijeka, city host, a city on Mediterranean sea with a new complex of sport swimming pools that are specific for their location at the very sea shore. The driving wheel of the new sociable happenings in Rijeka Is often called “the wave of Rijeka”, as the synonym for the success of the young athletes or the specific music expression of the town rockers.
